Tonight we went to the Victoria Art Gallery for a reception with everyone in the program. It was really fun, and our academic deans served us appetizers which was quite funny. We drank wine and looked at art; this is a pretty classy study abroad program, I gotta say. ALSO- I ran into Professor Singh in Bath (my poli sci prof from Mary Wash)!!! He's visiting and representing the university in the program. I loved seeing a familiar face here!
Then, we went to the Pig and Fiddle pub afterward and I had yet another Strongbow haha. We talked to a lot of British people about the country, sports, everything. It was fun mingling with the people of the town :) We are planning events to throw in our houses, like margarita/quesadilla night, etc.
More fun to come!

Okay...I was already jealous when I saw the photos of the "dorm" room. The wine reception is just over the top. I think your Dad has been duped into paying for studies abroad when it's obvious from the photo of the girls that you're all there for a new reality show called Bachelorettes of Bath.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you're having an awesome time so far. I hope you and your new friends thoroughly enjoy every minute!!!
Love, Aunt Katie
haha I agree Aunt Katie- I'm feeling pretty spoiled, too. The "study" in "study abroad" seems to take a backseat around here for students and professors alike. Everyone is so in awe of the beautiful city. Our professors even went to a pub with us and it wasn't even awkward! haha :)I'm loving the "Bachelorrettes of Bath" by the way. I think we'll be seeing that show in the near future!
ReplyDeleteLove you!
Kelly
I love that you love that they say "cheerio." I'm pretty sure I would be pleased to hear that as well!
